Laurie McClain, through McClain and Company, P.C., has been providing quality accounting, tax and financial advice to clients in the Atlanta metropolitan area for over thirty years.

Laurie's Philosophy
Although Laurie is educated and experienced in complex tax strategies, she believes that the best strategy is to keep it simple. Small businesses exist only to further the goals of their owners.
Laurie is dedicated to understanding the owners’ goals and helping them develop the best tax and financial strategies to achieve those goals.
Laurie does not believe in “buying” tax deductions, but focuses on planning ahead so that any necessary purchases are obtained in the most tax advantaged way possible. Laurie does not like surprises on April 15 and she works very hard to make sure her clients don’t have any!
Laurie McClain, CPA, MTx
Laurie is a native of Atlanta and has spent the last forty-something years specifically in Gwinnett County. She is a proud product of Gwinnett County Public Schools and received her Bachelors of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting in 1986 from Georgia State University.
Immediately after graduation, Laurie joined Gifford, Hillegass & Ingwersen, PC, a large, local accounting firm based in Dunwoody in their small business advisory department. Laurie advanced rapidly and maintained a successful small business practice during her time there. She gained experience in a wide variety of industries, including retail, manufacturing, distribution and professional services.
In 1996, Laurie left to form McClain and Company, P.C. She continued to offer “big firm expertise” to small business owners at a reasonable cost. Her philosophy has always been to weigh the cost of certain strategies against the benefits.
During her time in public accounting, Laurie has achieved very good results for her clients. She works diligently as an advocate for her clients in tax matters and financing opportunities and has assisted in several large software installations and conversions over the years. Laurie recently graduated from Georgia State University with a Masters in Taxation and is currently pursuing credentials to allow her to be proactive in the U.S. Tax Court.
Laurie is very active in her community as a member of the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the board of the Hudgens Arts Center and is a member of the Cornerstone Society of the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation. Laurie has three children and is an avid tennis player.
